Building Materials and Construction Technology
Phiplex: Need to glue (+ seal) Ikea wooden deck tiles Utlängan to metal and concrete. The tiles are wood-plastic composite. Can Casco Superfix+ (black) mounting adhesive work? Or is there something better? It needs to be black or anthracite.
BirgitS: [citat] You can check if you have large holes right where the cabinets (rails) are to be screwed in.
useless: The only reason is that it takes too long. If there were panels of the right dimensions to fit inside the studs, it might have been different, but no regular construction worker has the time to cut every panel to make them fit.
George M: [citat] that's how it turned out after treating the bricks with vinegar and 2k clear coat
Åsa Lund: I only know it exists, so google it or ask in the paint store. You should avoid regular latex paint.
Stugmannen: [citat] Old thread but I'm in the process of a similar solution. I have a span of just over 7 meters. Each top arm is 4.20 meters. What dimension does the top arm need to be to completely remove the truss? No inner/load-bearing walls exist. Regards
Farendag: Hello! I am going to demolish a storage room of about 15 sqm bya. In the demolition permit control plan, the amount of wood, for example, should be specified. How do you calculate this easily, are there any general rules?
Bjorkman92: I don't have that, but I will definitely look through it and contact some people there. Thanks for the tip!
Derbyboy: If you have compact clay soil and line with crushed stone, you create a collection area for water. Not good if it freezes.
Derbyboy: Hi, I'm going to build a plaster box and attach it to the ceiling for a kitchen fan. I'm planning to build it with 34x145 studs and cover it with plaster. What's the best way to prevent the joints from cracking?
Fotografen: Well, the beam is likely to be instead of the partition wall on the other side of the house. It's probably needed.
Bergo: Need some advice and tips on roof rafters, the house measures 5.5 x 4 meters with a span of 4m, which dimensions are preferable? And cc measurements live in zone 1.5? Should you wedge under the beams or cut out so the rafter lies completely against the wall plate? Best regards,
Rännil: [citat] I applied 2 coats with panel primer. It was supposed to have built-in knot sealer so I hope that's enough.
nht1: [citat] yes, the windows can be replaced from the inside. regards
Niklaspe: Haha could have worked! But it felt easier to make a plinth foundation then and cover and insulate.
tergo: it's been working with plastic since '77, there are no damages to the framework so why change
sinuslinus: [citat] Adhesive usually becomes harder to squeeze out.
Matilda_j86: Hi, Does anyone have tips on where I can find a step-by-step guide with pictures, etc. on how to soundproof a ceiling? /matilda
Jonatan79: Have you considered tiles instead? It removes some of your problems and requires minimal maintenance :)
Derbyboy: The plan is to build the canopy/box from beams, 34x145mm, then cover it with plaster. I think it should work because the box can be screwed with angles over a ceiling beam (even though almost 2/3 of the weight will be between the ceiling beams). What is the risk, the deflection becomes too large between the beams and the June Huntonit panels are pushed apart.
Alex husbyggare: Go with a hea140 instead, just as good, so it's good from the start but thanks for all the tips and help, that's what byggahus.se is for
Rickard.: I believe without having compared that the stone adhesive bonds much better to the lecablock and should therefore become stronger.
Byggareberg: This is how I built our pergola; I then attached them to both the flower box between two of the pillars and attached reinforcement mesh as the roof and on one of the sides to let the flowers grow up. I have attached three 70x45 that span between the sides to hold the roof of reinforcement mesh in place. [bild]
Ingro: We are going to build an insulated passage between a brick villa and a conservatory with aluminum/plastic strips. How can it be made airtight? Tips?
Semiproffset: [citat] What opinion would the chimney sweep have, do you mean? I can't read anywhere that you wouldn't be able to glue gypsum to the chimney.
Macki: [citat] I am facing a similar project and your solution seems like the quickest and best.
människa: Yes, I mean that. Primer on both sides as well, & drainage boards on the outside.
Gabbe1: If it's an uninsulated shed, I wouldn't care at all. See it as ventilation.
