I am going to install a ceiling fan above the kitchen island. Since it's a flat ceiling, I can't mount the fan directly to it, so I need to build a box (canopy) for the fan. Fjäråskupan recommends the box be about 30 cm larger than the fan on each side. In my case, this means the box will be approximately 120 x 100 cm, but I plan to make the box 140 x 100 cm and 15 cm high.
The box will be centered over the hob. The penetration in the ceiling 160 + 2 x 30mm (fire mat) is centered over the hob. The penetration will go right next to a ceiling joist.
The box including the fan (hood) will weigh about 25 kg.
The ceiling consists of tongue and groove boards and Huntonit panels. The center-to-center distance of the ceiling joists is approximately 90 cm.
Is it safe to attach the box with construction brackets to the ceiling?
The plan is to build the canopy/box from beams, 34x145mm, then cover it with plaster.
I think it should work because the box can be screwed with angles over a ceiling beam (even though almost 2/3 of the weight will be between the ceiling beams).
What is the risk, the deflection becomes too large between the beams and the June Huntonit panels are pushed apart.
