Painting interior ceiling, vapor barrier and cold attic on the top.
Hello!
We have painted the ceiling in one of the rooms and would eventually like to do it throughout the entire house.
The ceiling is made of boards, and the vapor barrier/plastic is directly against the top of the boards. There is about 30-40 cm of insulation on the plastic.
Is there any risk in painting this ceiling? I've heard you're not supposed to have double vapor barriers, but does the paint I use become so dense that it poses a real risk?
At the paint store, they said the paint breathes enough that this shouldn't be a concern (but they want to sell paint).
What I painted with is two layers of panel primer and two layers of regular ceiling paint.

There is absolutely no risk in painting the ceiling as long as you use paint intended for that purpose. Generally, you can trust paint stores and other professional stores in my opinion. Their primary customer group is often professionals, which makes your 5L ceiling paint quite insignificant in that context. I would be more worried about taking advice from a youngster at the Supermarket who still lives at home and probably hasn't even held a paintbrush.
Then it's time to continue painting! Nice because it's so much better with a white ceiling than a yellowed pine ceiling. At least until the fly specks start to show.Thiger said:
