Anna_H: What is drawn on the section drawing is what is load-bearing. That is, the heart wall that runs through the entire house lengthwise.

z_bumbi: Outdoor glue should work, especially if it's also covered with two/three layers of linoljefärg. I would be significantly more attentive to the rest of the wood, even if you're lucky and have old windows.
useless: Try with a regular board between two supports. Is it as easy to bend standing on edge as when it's lying down?
gaston12: OK, as mentioned I'm considering this. The outer wall in my basement right where the panel will go up is dry but not drained in a modern way. Steel stud - OSB - acoustic panel OSB to get stability and be able to hang something heavy like a TV. Gap at the floor and ceiling so it doesn't become too enclosed. OSB might need to be replaced with something that is more moisture resistant.
Isakare: Cut a piece of windowsill and screwed it over the outlet, painted the sill and outlet in the house's color.
Anderscurl: If the insurance company has been there and inspected and approved, I would feel more secure. At the same time, one should never burn unattended. So it sounds like it should be fine to start a fire in the stove. But always good to keep an extra watchful eye the first time burning on the chimney as a whole.

Jiji: We had bamboo flooring in Tokyo, it was very common and was more or less in all apartments. I think it was light and nice and pleasant to walk on. It will surely look great on the stairs.

neo11: Of course, it can be fixed, though a bit cumbersome, and I would say it's only cosmetic. However, the gap isn't that big, so I can't say that you absolutely must demolish the balcony because of it. But the picture is really too poor to create an overall impression.
Mjolnir: Thank you for all the answers. I have vävlim at home, planning to use it and spackle over afterwards. Removed the bad seam strips before it hardened, leaving a groove to easily glue in a new one.

He then ordered a whole truckload of floor coverings which were said to last well into the 80s. sjkarlsson: Looking into the possibility of building a shelf above the stove myself so I can store wood there. See attached image and sketch. Everything around is chimney/masonry. I've never done anything like this before, so I'm a bit unsure about how the construction should be and hope for tips. If I use rebar and then a layer of bricks followed by mortar, would that work?
