Looking into the possibility of building a shelf above the stove myself so I can store wood there. See attached image and sketch. Everything around is chimney/masonry.
I've never done anything like this before, so I'm a bit unsure about how the construction should be and hope for tips. If I use rebar and then a layer of bricks followed by mortar, would that work?
