Building Materials and Construction Technology
Rooolle: I am planning to convert to a waterborne underfloor heating system and am considering whether I need to lay insulation boards above what we believe is an ERGE floor structure before I use self-leveling compound. There is a small crawl space under the floor structure, and we estimate it's about 40 cm deep (we haven't made a hole in the floor yet or have drawings to confirm this). Some builders say
Matti_75: Tear it down it's not load-bearing
vedex83: Hello, thank you for your thoughts. My roof sheet is equipped with a condensation protection, so it doesn't release much condensation. The membrane isn't supposed to allow water through but should be able to breathe. I'm planning to put plastic on the inside of the roof, so the moisture needs to escape somewhere. Here is an excerpt from the manufacturer of the membrane I am considering. "This is
nb.: [citat] Yes, insulation is absolutely needed, otherwise there will be condensation and after a few decades the beam will have rotted away...
Wittlock: Not exactly the same, but similar. - Back piece made of board/masonite. - Strips made of 10mm MDF, about 10cm, nailed on the outside in a desired grid pattern. - 8mm quarter round inside the squares - Top piece in planed pine - Cove molding under the top rail as a "bracket" [bild]
Anonymiserad 405730: [citat] Pull in the joist so that it ends flush with the wall, then you can attach a 45x45 on the outside or a full joist if you feel uncertain.
Pjosk75: How has the construction held up now that the second winter is nearly over? I am planning a carport of a similar size and it would be nice to avoid support in the middle. Mine will be located in Uppland, so the amount of snow is considerably less based on recent winters.
60volvo: Thank you very much. They are simple spontaneous 21mm inner panels, which will be laid horizontally.
Olivia.D: Yes, they thought there was a smell, but didn't want to believe it was from the floors. The inspector who came by (did not do an inspection, just came by to smell) believed that the smell comes from the floors.
A bygg: No, unfortunately... I gave up on this project. Bought a Stiga outdoor table. Works well, but of course not as fun as building something yourself!
Matti_75: Search for plastsockel and you will find several different suppliers.
sepani: Here's how it turned out in the end... ventilation needs to be sealed... and the socket moved. And of course, it needs to be painted… …. [bild]
BirgitS: At that time, local carpenters made baseboards, door casings, and other moldings, which meant that their appearance varied between different areas. Today, with large industries producing moldings for the entire country, only a few old molding designs remain.
Torsten Er: [citat] Looks a bit strange, but isn't it boat glue? I know it's used frequently for this type of work.
Roga1337: It's probably not a bad idea, might be worth filling the space between the OSB strips with something then, to avoid risking creating "resonance box effects"... if possible, place OSB boards on the entire wall for even better sound insulation. Most acoustic panels can also be mounted with adhesive.
Jens5: Hi, struggling with similar issues. How did you solve it?
rogero1: Hello, I have wainscoting in an 80s apartment in Sälen. We are planning to do some renovations, and therefore I need to get more of this panel but have no idea where to find it. Does anyone have any good tips? Thanks,
tracker: Or maybe to the avdragsbsna during concrete casting https://www.toolab.se/skruv-for-avdragarbana-s18-180mm
Testarn: In the context of plaster and similar, "bom" usually means that it is not attached to the substrate, so I'm wildly guessing here and thinking it has to do with applying too thick a layer, which can create situations where the self-leveling compound won't be secure against the substrate. Whether this can occur due to heat development, gases, or deformation during curing, I don't know, but it's
Viktor.J: rent a stud finder and set it to metal, and you should be able to see exactly where your water pipes are (provided that they are metal)....
noone70: [citat] Don't think he's the type to take on such a project. (Unless he figures out a way to fix it with a golf club)😀
Anonymiserad 405730: Corner block cannot be mitered when you have a sloping ceiling.. If you don't want a block, you have to place the molding on the sloped ceiling first and then cope the connecting molding..
O: [citat] Sand the wood or lay new carpet [citat] You can sand it anyway. If it is slightly uneven here and there, it doesn't matter because no one other than you will notice. It's not visibly disturbing. [citat] I don't follow what you mean. Exactly what do you mean by "sides"? [citat] Carpet, fits excellently on stairs. It dampens footstep noise and prevents slipping.
MatsBengtsson89: I think you're thinking of the ytterhörnlist. [bild]
Roobiiiiin: [citat] Okay, no mine isn't blåbetong. Do you have any experience with laying tiles on siporex joists? Is it possible to float on top of it? I've lifted up the floor in the hallway and it seems to be a thin masonite about 7mm, then under that some dark board that is 12 mm. Kind of like asphalt board.
Hybro: In public buildings, exterior doors should open outward. That was not the case in Grue Church in Norway in 1822. More than 110 people died in the fire. Everyone crowded and wanted to get out. The doors could not be opened due to people pushing against them.
arkTecko: The clay freezes, that's probably the biggest problem. Apart from that (e.g., if you use warm water?), it should work, as there is no curing process that gets ruined. But it sounds very troublesome.
