We have just moved into a house built in 1947. The house has been largely renovated from 2015 onwards.
About a year ago, the upper floor was renovated with new herringbone parquet. The floors were laid on new chipboard and glued with a one-component product. Kattvindar in two of the bedrooms were opened up, the ceiling was additionally insulated, and new surface layers were added.
On the upper floor, but especially in one of the rooms, there is a strong chemical smell. Smells like glue, a bit sour. The smell is reminiscent of masking tape. The smell becomes more pronounced when it's warm.
We had the inspector who conducted the inspection of the house over to see if he could identify the smell. He didn't think it smelled like moisture or mold. We have also had the flooring company that laid the floors over, but they do not acknowledge the smell.
Does anyone recognize this?
