Sweli: I think it was me who added that link. Importing from Germany. They have the warehouse there and send the goods directly to you from the warehouse. If I understood it correctly, there will be no shipping cost but they charge 99 kr for handling. Sounds pretty good if you don't want to take a little "shopping holiday" to Germany. We are going to do it soon.

Sweli: Found the following method/system for plastering, maybe something for you. Kullahus Putsspackel your link http://www.kullahus.se/ We will have concrete houses already plastered and were looking for paint for the house, came across this page from the byggahus links. Seems easy to work with. Good luck!

Sven: The Swedish National Heritage Board is in the process of building a materials guide. Perhaps something for those of you who have bought a better second-hand item that you are planning to refurbish. Or perhaps simply for anyone who wants to increase their knowledge. http://www.raa.se/materialguiden/material.asp

Sven: The price depends, among other things, on the log construction technique. Machine-made or manual, hand-hewn side/sides, handcrafted tenons and joints, etc. An essential decision to make is whether the log structure should be visible on the inside and/or outside. Personally, I see no need to insulate a new log structure. The most important thing is convection protection, i.e., the structure should

Sven: "slam paint suffers from pigment issues" If you choose Uula's slam paint sold through the Centrum för byggnadsvård in Gysinge, it's only the white paint that gets "problems." It looks a bit dirty after a while if painted on older façades.

General_Failure: How big is the house? Is the upper floor already insulated? 177' kr sounds expensive. Check previous posts. I know this has been discussed before.

PA: I was referring to the drying out of the wall when building with Dorocell wall elements since the concrete is then covered with plastic on both sides. The seal I meant was the one you place on top of your basement wall to then erect a wooden house on top. Sorry if I was unclear. As I see it, the concrete in the wall is covered with plastic on three of four sides. Where does the moisture go?

Lotta: The green roof has also been skipped, and now it's black, but I'll probably change my mind many more times. The thing is, we start digging on Tuesday. So the man is on the ground level, while I'm pondering other things. Speaking of maintenance, I believe in making it as easy as possible. There's always maintenance with a house, so if you can make it easier for yourself, I think you should. Then,

Lotta: Have looked at facade bricks. I would like to have a round-edged, yellow, nice one. The problem is I haven't seen any like that. Does anyone know anything about brick? Mexi brick is no longer manufactured in Sweden, but in Denmark, white and gray are produced.

General_Failure: I think it's the same kind of wall as we have in our apartment. If you want to put up something that weighs more than a kilo, you must use an expansion screw. I would start by drilling a hole through the plaster with a drill that has a slightly larger diameter than the expansion screw. Once I got through the plaster, I switch to a drill with the diameter the expansion screw requires. Then I push
