Building Materials and Construction Technology
CaJa: You should get the same answer from a web search, but since no one has answered... here you go: www.svetsmek.com/ www.eddings.se/ (Bröderna Eddings Smide in Järfälla) www.ostersmide.com/ www.jernriddare.com/balkonger.htm www.teknova.se/balkonger/racken.html w1.853.telia.com/~u85319161/tradsmide.htm www.pk-allmek.com/ www.racksvets.se/ I will need these myself eventually, a good place to gather
joakim: hi check out skånska byggvaror they have nice doors. I can't answer about the quality www.skanskbyggvaror.se
CaJa: Ikea's floor protector is called Kolon and costs 295 SEK. I have it on top of the pine floor where I sit all day rolling on the office chair....
Sweli: No, we don't need that. Hose diameter and length are calculated based on the room's power requirement. The power requirement is the same regardless of the type of underfloor heating you use.
Sweli: I stumbled upon it while surfing the web. Incredibly complete list of all goods and suppliers. http://www.lantbruksnet.se/ just type in the item you're looking for ;D
hasse_f: Okay, that sounds logical. Thanks for the help! /hasse
Scout: Another skilled carpentry company without a website... Lindblom & Co in Alfta, Hälsingland 0271-100 45. They are (or were) listed in the Gyseinge Center for Building Preservation catalog. I ordered new pair of exterior doors using the original as a template when I was renovating in the countryside. Primed, unique, custom sizes with energy glass cost approximately 20,000 They build whatever you
HBK: A thick solid wood floor is not the best for water-based underfloor heating. The denser the material, the better the thermal conductivity. As is well known, solid wood is not as dense as, for example, laminate.
General_Failure: If you're supposed to apply glaze before putting up the paneling, isn't it just a matter of slapping it on? Why does it need to dry? When you apply the glaze, you're also adding moisture to the wood, right? Isn't it better to apply the glaze as soon as possible and then let it dry?
Sweli: Thank you so much! We will tell you about that. German VAT 16% and you will have to pay it ;D
ama: It probably depends a bit on where in the country you live. In Skåne and the east coast (e.g. Trosa), the water is often lime-rich, and what I've seen is that dark sinks always appear unclean with spots from the water. In Gothenburg, there's less lime in the water, and the sinks don't get spotted as quickly. The same probably applies to floors. Do a test, ask to get a sample tile and splash it
Sweli: Stefan, the answer is simple: "They are not the ones who will live there, so there is no need to do a good job." We are going to plaster the entire upstairs of our house with Masterfacade as the base. We don't really know what type of plaster we will use, but in any case, it should be almost exactly the one we will have on the ground floor, which will be plastered from the factory. When we went
Conny_P: An electrical inspector I spoke with said that after 3-4 times of the fuse tripping under load, the thermal property of a circuit breaker deteriorates/changes. This can (can, not certain) lead to resistance forming in the fuse=heat being generated. /C 8)
yonna: ;) I don't really know - but the previous owner claimed so anyway, and when I brought a sample to the store the salesperson just said they didn't have it anymore. The problem recurs when the living room also needs to be redone; it was so poorly installed that it cracked. That room is adjacent to the dining room with a wide sliding door in between. It's possible I have to redo both of these rooms
frasse: Check out Rinkaby Rör, they have most things in water and drainage at reasonable prices www.rinkabyror.se
Yo: stt! Are those ones that you can install yourself or not? What cost per square meter do you estimate for materials and installation?
Garkast: Hello! Building with a basement is tempting to get more space, but it doesn’t seem very common today. I saw last summer when I was out in Sandhamn that basements were built with hollow "styrofoam blocks," it looked very easy and smooth. (and fun, like Lego when you were little... :)) I have now found 2 websites where such blocks are marketed; http://home3.swipnet.se/~w-33773/ (a bit of a weird
Fasting65: Well, Kährs only has planks with patterns. If you want to have genuine parquet flooring, the floor is made up of small wood pieces laid in various patterns. These pieces are solid in material. Here are some links. http://home.swipnet.se/hallsta-parkett/ http://www.shparkett.se/ Also check out RM Bygg AB which has some reference pictures of when they lay real parquet flooring.
Stefan: Hello! Another option could perhaps be to use isolated lightweight concrete/LECA blocks? Ergotherm blocks (35cm thickness) apparently have a U-value around 0.23 W/m2C without additional external insulation. Finja Betong's regular Isolerblock are around Up=0.36W/m2C. There are also supposedly pre-fab whole wall elements available. Does anyone know how this option compares to, for example, Ytong or
Sweli: We build in stone with a plastered facade. We have made some comparisons about the price difference. Look at all posts from "sambon". There you will find the comparison ;D As a short answer, I can say that wooden houses with a plastered facade are almost more expensive than pure stone houses ;)
Yo: Cold or heat; it's all about heat. It's a matter of direction. If you have poor insulation against the cold basement, the floors will feel cold. Installing underfloor heating will likely result in you heating the basement at a great expense. See if you can add insulation against the basement, and I believe the floors will feel warmer.
BoD: I find a bit in "Värmeboken" by Axelsson/Andrén from 2000 about the sizing of heat pumps that might be useful: "Heat pumps should not be oversized in terms of capacity because the investment cost would otherwise be unjustifiably high. /.../ The best economy is achieved if the heat pump is sized to about 50 percent of the house's maximum power requirement. A ground, rock, or water heat pump then
Strisak: If you want to be pretty, you have to endure pain (wallet pain). Everyone knows that it's expensive to keep up with fashion, even in the construction industry. Nooo, come up with some original things by buying second-hand and possibly remodeling them.
ante: Waterborne! I have about a 40% discount on Windows, Doors, plaster, indoor flooring, etc. I haven't seen the blocks yet, but I think they cost about 300:- per sqm!
