Sorry about writing in english but the grass is growing fast and I need help.
I am trying to get a Jönsered FR 2111 tractor with front mower back in order. The belt connecting the motor to the cutting deck does not engage despite much inspection and tinkering. The arm (belt adjuster) that pushes out to tighten the belt against the motor shaft swings out when engaged but the belt comes loose easily and the blades are not activated.
The belt is not highly worn, a fellow at the local lawnmower shop was kind enough to inspect it and found nothing wrong. I tried extensive lubrication of the belts and other moving parts. This got things moving but the belt still does not engage properly and slips loose rather than set the blader in motion.
I don't have an easy way to bring the mower to a local repair shop so I'm first trying to sort this out myself. I'm looking for ideas on how to troubleshoot the slipping belt.
The Jonsered manual has not enlightened me on a possible solution.
