Sure, but with double plasterboard, you're at least safe when it comes to the walls. As long as you choose a health-friendly paint that is. You have to do what you can without it costing an arm and a leg.

Why don't you have raw wood + plaster in your setup? An interesting alternative where you probably have the best hanging ability.

Fermacell is also available in 18mm (I think that was the thickness) screw with chipboard screws and there won't be any problems

So horrifically expensive though. I have such a big house so it adds up. Double gypsum it will be.
