It is with a heavy heart that I must announce that member justusandersson passed away from corona on April 4th.

He was not only a very knowledgeable, friendly, and appreciated forum member who consistently delivered top-notch answers, often in the subforum Building Materials & Construction Techniques. He also wrote appreciated editorial articles on architecture and construction.

We had just planned to write an article about 1950s houses, where he would write a part about the construction. Now it will have to be without him.

Rest in peace Peter, as your real name is.

You can find justusandersson's posts here.

His editorial articles were these:
How a Roof Truss Works
Adding to the House - Choose the Right Construction
Is the Wall Load-Bearing? - A Guide
Plank Houses - Houses with a Load-Bearing Frame of Planks 1920-1950
Different Ways to Expand the House - Guide and Comparison

Yes, it was boring.

So boring. The pandemic is really not over yet, even if some want to believe it.

It was very sad
I have been wondering for quite a while if something had happened, so it's good to know at least, thank you.

Is it possible to add a text to his profile page so it's clear there, for example, replace "retired architect" with "rest in peace", @Marlen Eskilsson ?

No, how sad to read. One of the best in this forum.
Rest in peace!

Oh, how sad. Justus was one of the very best writers on the forum. Always good answers where he took the time to understand the question and respond comprehensibly to technically advanced calculations and construction solutions. Never a harsh word as far as I have seen. Rest in peace.

Very sad to hear. He was a very helpful person, who explained things to us ordinary dummies in a comprehensible way. Always answered PMs and came back with explanatory words/sketches. Rest in peace.

It was very sad to read, he was an incredible asset to us on the forum.

Life is fleeting so it's best to take the time to live it in between.

May Peter's family find comfort!

Rest in peace

Damn! So unnecessary!
More than once, I've read a post he wrote and then clicked into his profile to read everything he's written. A bit like when you get stuck on Wikipedia. His passing will not go unnoticed on the forum, that's for sure.

Oh, so boring. He wrote so clearly, knowledgeably, and one gained a good trust in his suggestions.

The sky has gained an incredibly skilled and helpful constructor.

RIP.

It was very sad to hear. He was exactly the kind of person who serves as the backbone of a well-functioning internet community; always helpful, always friendly, and always knowledgeable.
