Nibe Fighter 310P
Hello everyone!
I don't live in Sweden, but I recently purchased a Swedish-style wooden house which comes equipped with a beautiful Nibe Fighter 310P. I found a Swedish user manual here: https://www.nibe.eu/assets/documents/11430/411216-1.pdf
Despite doing my best to understand the manual, I have some questions that maybe someone can help with 🙏
1. Settings
The temperature inside the house is ok. However, I wonder whether the settings are optimal for where I live. Unfortunately, the lovely map of Sweden 🇸🇪 with recommended settings doesn't help me. I also don't understand how the Val, värmekurva works. I thought increasing this value would result in higher temperatures, but then it wouldn't make sense that the map recommends to set it to 11 in Ystad and 9 in Kiruna 🤔
My current settings are:
- Val, värmekurva = 10
- Förskjutning, värmekurva = +1
- Elpatron ON
- Cirk.pump ON
- Extra varmvatten OFF
- I have radiators, not floor heating
- It's almost spring where I live
Is there a guide with a world map? Or can you please help me interpret what the above settings do, so that I have a better idea of how and when to adjust them?
2. What should the "summer" settings be, and at what temperature do you make the change?
3. What should the settings be when you go on vacation for a few weeks?
4. What is the expected lifetime of this heating pump? I get the sense that this is from the late 90s / early 2000s and I hope it's not on borrowed time 🙄
Sorry for the long post, and in English to boot. I thought it'd be good to start with a bang! 🤩

Hello! Here you have an English manual for 310P year models 2003 - 2005: https://assetstore.nibe.se/hcms/v2.4/entity/document/30631/storage/MDMwNjMxLzAvbWFzdGVy
1. The heating curve needs to be adjusted for each individual house and cannot be read from a map or table. Mid winter without strong sunlight is a good time for adjustments. Wait minimum 24 hours for each adjustment to take effect.
2. Summer is when the house doesn't need any heating and you turn of the circulation pump in the system with the operating mode button. Typically approx. 17 °C or warmer days outside.
3. Maybe reduce the heating curve offset by 2 to 3 steps when on vacation.
4. Expected life-time 20 years but the compressor usually stops working after approx. 10 years and needs to be replaced together with some other parts.

Thank you very much for this information and for the English manual!
I am concerned that 20 years might be up. Hopefully it gives me at least a couple more years 🙏
I have two follow-up questions:
- Does it make sense to also turn off the immersion heater and circulation pump when on vacation? Or it depends on the season / outdoors temperature?
- If I turn off the circulation pump and immersion heater in summer, will the supply of hot water be affected? (I'm thinking for hot showers, etc).

If you turn off the immersion heater the outdoor temperature should be like 6 °C or higher and it depends on how much hot tap water is used. If the circulation pump is turned off I think the outdoor temperature should be 17 °C or higher. This is because the way exhaust air heat pumps work. There must always be a rather high indoor temperature. Otherwise you should get another sort of heat pump, like air-to-air heat pump which is a good complement if you want to save energy.
Hot water works fine in summer mode but then all the hot water is prepared with compressor only so capacity is somewhat limited (when immersion heater is turned off).

Redigerat:
Having read the manual I learned that the heat pump also takes care of indoor ventilation. This is probably why the air inside the house is so fresh without opening the windows, which I suppose is quite beneficial for the wood too.
So what would happen if the heat pump stopped working and I replaced it with, for example, district heating?

you would need to install a different unit/fan for the ventilation, most likely you have vents above some of the window and right now the air leaves the house after passing though the 310p.T TotallyLost skrev:Having read the manual I learned that the heat pump also takes care of indoor ventilation. If you remove the 310p something else must handle the ventilation
Thank you!
I hope this unit gives me at least 2-3 years to save for a proper replacement instead 🙏
