Hi! I have an outdoor room built on top of my wooden desk. I am thinking to insulate the floor so I can install laminate floor. As is now it is wooden desk as foundation and on top of it the previous has installed plastic tiles. What can I do to insulate it without removing my wooden desk . Can I put XPS panels 20 mm (pressure resistant) on top of the plastic tiles and then lay down the laminate?

Hi, and welcome..

What is under the plastic tiles?

The problem with laminate floor is the change in humidity, which can make the floor bumpy. You need to find a laminte with nonwood material.

Hi! Under the plastic tiles is the wooden deck.
The uterum is build on top the altan. At Bauhaus they told me that a laminate of Ac5/33 water proof is best to use. I just need to leave enough gaps in the edge so it can expand on high temps during summer.

Any other thoughts on this? What can I use on top of the deck altan as thermal insulation and before I put the laminate?
