Building concerns
Hi - sorry for the English in advanced.
IN am in the process of building a house with fiskarhedenvillan. We are approximately 50% the way through the build but we have some concerns about the outside of the house that I feel the builders (snickare) haven't addressed yet.
the wood panelling on the outside of the house has splits in the wood, in a few places and in one place a knot in the wood has come out and there is a hole in the panel.
We have asked the builders to address these and they have responded with its not finished yet and they'll fix these towards the end, but the outside of the house has been finished, the drainage has been installed and the corner pieces installed. The wood panels are tongue and groove so they're not going to be easily removed to replace the split pieces and my concern is that the builders will simply not do it.
I don't really know where i stand with this issue and what I should really do about it. I've asked my QA about this and haven't heard back from him.
Am i just being over sensitive about split wood or should i be pushing harder, if they refuse to help what do I do.
Thanks for reading and again sorry about the english.

Pictures help a lot ..
Yes, sorry but i do not have the pictures with me at work - but to try and paint a picture with words, its standard tongue and groove cladding for the outside and where they have nailed the board the wood has splintered in some places 10 - 15 cm in others further - an example of similar splitting is (https://idratherassets.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/DSC_0006-Medium.jpg) generally at the point of where the nail has gone into the wood,Dan_Johansson skrev:
If that helps at all.
Doesn't sound like it's too well built, no. The panel is obviously there to keep the weather out, and it won't with holes in it. As for cracks, well, some are inevitable, since wood dries, but there shouldn't be enough of them to seriously affect the impression or even compromise the structural integrity of the panel.
Tearing it all out and replacing the affected panels may be impractical, but they should at least plug the holes and make sure that the cracks won't mean that pieces of panel will come falling off. Then again, with tongue and groove panelling, they probably won't either, so it's probably a matter of aesthetics. But a good builder would make sure to use good wood and not crack it when attaching it to something of course imho.

Thank you for the reply. My thoughts are the same I doubt they are going to tear it all out, but equally I am not happy with the lack luster way in which the work has been done.
In the uk i would expect some financial compensation for this and some assurances that my house isnt going to start leaking all of a sudden due to these over sights.
If the builders do not take responsibility where do i got from there - I'd imagine fiskarhedenvillan would have an opinion as they recommended the builders.
Thanks for your response.
