Hello! I drove the tiller into my lawn to lay new grass and I came across a buried electrical wire (can be seen in the photo). The thread is not buried deep enough. I'm looking for rules on what to do to fix this. I will contact an electrician to carry out the work but I had a few questions before contacting anyone to fix it.

1. How deep the thread should be. This line transports electricity from the home to the garage building and is a 240V line.
2. Today, the wire in gray is flexible pipes. Is this pipe good enough or should it be in a hard PVC pipe? Should the pipe have a specific color?
3. Can I contact the hidden insurance that the seller purchased at the time of sale of the house? This thread was not buried according to the rules and should be considered a hidden error.
4. Part of the wire is located under the patio. Should the patio be opened to bury the thread deeper?

A cable in the ground can either be a cable made for being in the ground (called "markkabel" in Swedish) or shall be a suitable cable that can be installed in a protective pipe ("kabelrör") which shall be yellow.

A grey normal installation pipe is not suitable to be in the ground but might (just might) be OK if the cable itself is of a "markkabel" type.

There is no clear rule on how deep they should be but a recommendation is at least 35 cm.

Hej!

Many thanks for all the replies. I called and electrician to come and have a look. He told me that it is not an electrical wire but instead a telephone cable. He also said that there are no rules for low voltage telephone cable and I can just pull it out if I don't need it.

However, it was good to understand the rules around grounding of electrical wires and many thanks for all the answers.
