A small caveat. The forest industries do not recommend using a nail gun for panel nailing.
Nailing with a nail gun should be avoided because
the nails easily penetrate too deep into the panel boards
and contribute to moisture intrusion at the nail head.
More info can be found here: http://www.byggbeskrivningar.se (Check Exterior->Exterior wooden panels). There are some good tips on batten dimensions, nail dimensions, and how to nail/screw the panel.

That's correct. It's important to set the stroke depth so the nail head doesn't sink into the board. If you do just that, there are no problems.

hi
but you mean the underbrädor now?
or was it Z-panel?
for underbrädor 2.5" is enough, which means 60 nails.
for locken it's 4" that applies, nothing else!

So is it in the Hus AMA regulations that you are referring to?
Or is it called Bygg AMA?

P
It's called Hus-AMA.
Referring to the other thread where the nails are driven somewhat asymmetrically in the primed panel is just ridiculous. Request a complete picture of the panel when it is fully painted and see how "awful" it looks.

60 mm galvanized pin nails in the underboards are perfectly sufficient.

under the boards, nails should be placed in a zigzag pattern as well, not on the same side or double nailing!

Agree with estwing.....
I've also heard that it's enough to nail a nail, for example, in the upper left corner, under the roof, and then a nail in the lower right corner of the bottom board.

For my part, it's about 21x145 boards with chamfered tongue list, so I'll probably nail my boards on both sides in each nail batten.

Of course, it's galvanized nails to be used.

Isn't there a problem with the nail going through the wind barrier behind the battens?

According to Moelven

The nail should not be so long that it damages the wind barrier behind the panel. The diameter must be at least 2.8 mm.

I wonder if TS has noticed any damage yet? Maybe rust on the nails?
