Regarding transport and securing, whether you get it on the roof or take it with a trailer, you secure it by wrapping the strap around the beam a couple of times. Additionally, the strap should be tightened laterally so that the beam cannot move side to side.
Yes, I managed to figure out, with help, what size of Glulam beam I need. It is 115x405 L40
Deformation 26.8m L/205
Min. Bearing width 63mm
Bearing at back end 34,431(kn)
and it should be 5.5m long.
As a column, it is 90x90
Is there anyone who can convert this to a steel beam, what size I need? First, the glulam beam is about 40cm high and I only have 2.40 in ceiling height, which makes it take up a lot of space, and secondly, it would cost about 3500kr. So it would be interesting to know what a steel beam would cost.

Regarding iron beams.... Don't you need to fireproof them in a specific way?
Maybe it only applies to larger constructions, but iron tends to deform very easily in a fire.
Additionally, an iron beam probably won't follow the rest of the house's "movements" with temperature changes...

Maybe something helpful, page 50 and onwards http://www.tibnor.se/C1256EF1005D76...00642884/$file/Konstruktionstabeller_2003.pdfDadde said:Is there anyone who can convert this into a steel beam, what size do I need?
