Definitely, it will turn out well if you invest that much time! but I'm probably not interested in breaking up the floor, what gets better with breaking up the floor compared to platon? the platon mat guarantees 50 years of durability! The walls should echo a bit, so why not keep the concrete walls and hang dampeners? All the cables are easiest to run in the ceiling, as it is made of wood!

would have sanded the floor, installed tiles and a thick luxurious carpet. only concrete walls with absorbers and heavy curtain fabric along the entire walls. what kind of heating is planned?

myself, I tore everything down and chiseled up the floor and insulated 20cm and laid heating cable. plastered walls and tiles on the floor. in the laundry room though.

The risk with carpet against tile is that it might mold, wanting as "warm" a floor as possible, possibly underfloor heating but a thick carpet should suffice. I was thinking of using just waste heat from the house. There's a wood-burning stove outside the door to the cinema room and it usually gets quite warm with all the electronics running, but this might be too little; I'll have to feel it out a bit!

Yes, we know what is recommended to do. Is drainage okay? How far below the ground is the basement/floor located? How big is the room that needs heating?

In the family room at home (20 sqm), Platon has been laid on the floor and windproof paper on the walls. Then laminate on top of that. Ice-cold floor. The heat loss in the room goes that way, I can tell you. But I can't be bothered to do anything about it. It maintains 18 degrees maybe with a 1500w heater. Carpets all over the floor. Works with slippers ;) It's used as a music room/game room.

Hmm... can't give you an example right now but that felt quite far from any of the "fine" projects on minhembio. Cluttered room and really nothing done about the acoustics.

I live in the belief that you can make relatively simple speakers sound very good if you know what you're doing in terms of room acoustics. I think that's a better way than pouring on with power, many speakers, and electronics to fix the problems...
Ok was a bit unclear, it was the floor I was referring to, the rest of the room is quite cluttered.

I understand if it's too much work to break up the floor, but platonmatta should work well :)

Ok, I get it.

Regarding the acoustics, I have covered rock wool panels with fabric and hung them behind the speakers and screen, 3 pieces, each 10 cm thick, 60x120 with a 10 cm distance to the wall. Then 10 "paintings" made of 45 mm rock wool on the side walls in slightly varying sizes from 40x50 to 60x100, covered in stylish fabric and textile posters. A large sofa and many cushions also work wonders for the acoustics.

Drainage has not been performed on the house as it is recommended not to be done on this house. It is built in such a way that you risk damaging the natural drainage system if you go in and dig (according to the inspector). I recall that the moisture measurement was at 12 in the floor. The floor is about 0.5 meters below ground. Talked to Beckers today and he said that we don't need to lay Platon but that foam would be enough... seems a bit strange to me... wouldn't there be no circulation under the floorboards then? The room is about 20 sqm, considering installing a heating coil that can be turned on during the coldest days of the year!
