One should not change the technical solution in older functioning constructions. The wall was dry. Patch and repair with the original material, then you know it works.

Gypsum is probably a risk construction in a kitchen, just like it is in a wet room.

What is it that makes the use of gypsum boards a risk construction in the TS's kitchen?

Sven, sorry but that was probably the dumbest thing I've heard in a long time.
Gips is really not a risk construction, but rather completely professionally done by skilled craftsmen.
