Hej,

First of all I would like to apologize for writing in English, unfortunately my Swedish is not as good as I would like it to be at this stage :o. And congratulations for a great and useful forum.

We are looking to renovate a small toalett in our vila (we plan also to renovate the bathroom later on). And I a few doubts regarding costs, where to find companies and what to take in consideration...

The toalett is about 1.2m x 1.6m (~2kvm) and wall are 2.5m high. There is just a WC and a sink. The walls are gysp with painted paper on top and the floor is of vinyl. I don't know how old exactly it is but it can possibly be the original from when the vila was built (1955).

We would like to install a wc that hangs on the wall (inbyggnad wc stol) and to have tiles on the floor and preferably on the walls as well.

I guess is recommendable to replace all the plumbing/ swegage, also the pipes to the heater element?

How much work should this take, and more important what would be the approximate cost? (excluding kakel, klinker, wc-stol, Tvättställ which I am planning to buy myself)

To be able to meet the regulations of wetrooms (for the insurance an so on) I guess the company need to have some certification? Where couls I find a list of companies in my area (east Skåne)?
I was thinking about requesting offers in webs like offerta.se, servicefinder.se and others, but I read in the forum that the good companies don't need to use those to get work. Since we are quite new in the country and our network is limited it feels quite difficult to find trusted companies (that are not fully booked for 2 years)

Welcome! My guess is approx 60,000 after ROT. You can find lists of certified companies om www.bkr.se.

Use the sk. Hantverksformuläret and you have to specifically agree that for example säker vatten (vvs) and bkr branschregler shall apply. Use a besiktningsman and the company should provide a certificate when done (copy can be seen at www.bkr.se)

If you only have a loo and a sink you don't need to follow all the wet room regulations. In a small toilett like this it could be nice to have a water tight floor and maybe 5-6 cm up on the walls. The walls doesn't need special water tight sealing at all. You can put a wall paper on the walls if you like or paint the walls.

Thank you for the tips! I have collected all the companies in my area from bkr.se and I will contact them to ask for offers/availability.

I was aware that the toilets only needed waterproofing on the floor. But we would like to have walls tiled for estetics

Honestly 60.000 + the costs of tiles stol etc is more than what I was expecting. I knew it was not going to be cheap but the estimation from the besiktingsman was half of this.

Any tips on what should the offers include, should they be on paper, any rules about this? Thanks!
