Can I build a partially attached garage to my villa
Hi I want to build a partially attached garage to my villa, basically so we can access the garage without having to go outside,
The villa is not overlooked by any neighbors and the garage would only be connected on the villa corner, enough for a little corridor between villa and garage. It would be built in timber cladding to match the property.
The property is in Falkenberg, Halland County.
Would i need plans drawn up by a professional, and building regulations, permit etc.
OR as it's just a garage, just build it

There are rules that under certain conditions let you build a separate building up to 30 m² without a permit. (Attefallshus). There are also rules that under certain conditions let you enlarge your house up to 15 m² without a permit. Some aspects of the rules are local. (Detaljplan if there is any). It sounds to me as what you want to do requires a building permit.
Depending on where your house is, the level of rules differ.
Is this i in a planned area ("detaljplan"), if not, is it within "sammanhållen bebyggelse". If there is a long distance to any other buildings, it may be considered to be outside such area (the commune have maps indicating which areas are considered to be outside). In that case you can build quite a lot of things without permit.
But also planned area or not affects how much you may build without a permit.

i have emailed the local kommune to ask them if i need a building permit or just a notification, hopefully its an easy quick process , 😬

Falkenberg municipality have confirmed I do not require a permit or notification as long as the building extension connected to my villa is less than 30 sqm. And does not also connect to any other outbuildings. This is only if no other extensions have been built previously..
