Hello,

We just moved to a new house that has Nibe 1226 as heat pump (the well is 160m in depth). I noticed that level of brine is almost 0 in the vessel level! And I’m worried if it’s in risk minimum level or its normal ? And how I can pop it up ?

  • A closed white vessel with a red cap and low brine level, connected to pipes, in a basement setting, possibly for a heat pump system.

  • Kanna med E-THERM KBS BIO köldbärarsprit för värmepump, baserad på bioetanol, brandfarligt, 25 liter, från Swed Handling Chemicals.

Hi and welcome to byggahus!

Not sure about how to fill it, eg remove the top brass part and just mix and pour through a funnel.

But I get some red flags. Garden hose fittings for the filling/circulation valves? Thats usually something neater in a styrofoam box. Lots of spare alcohol for mixing brine? I have not topped up once in 10+years, never had a jug at home. A pressure relief valve at the top of the vessel? mine had a tight plug.

Is this a homemade, leaking system?

unscrew the brass part on the whote vessel, and fill it up to half. those fittings is also for filling, och for cirkulating brine with a pump to get out some air.

Thank you :)

I really don’t know if its homemade or not, what I know that it’s made 2013.

I will try to open the brass fitting and fill then see. I hope it will work.

One more question: is this concentrate brine? Should I mix it with 2/3 water ! Or is it already ready to use ?

Thanks

Thanks a lot,

but should I close the valve underneath the level vessel before opening the brass fitting ? I’m thinking about loosing pressure.

Also, is this concentrate brine? Should I mix it with 2/3 water ! Or is it already ready to use ?

Thanks

When I topped up my brine I used only water (was about 4 liters). Formally you should add a mixture that does not freeze easily. But I thought that my 4 l would not really change the balance.

Yes, 4 liters of water will not make a big difference, but next time try to mix it

not concentrated, 1/3 and not put only water, think if the other owner did that too many times, your freezing point is not what it should be, and you get ice plug or burst exchanger
