Hej đ,
Jag Àr ledsen men jag förstÄr inte sÄ mycket Svenska Àn.
I recently bought a house with a wood boiled ALBIN SPECIAL Nr. 1. I would like to know a few things so if you can give me any advice, I would be very grateful.
1) What should the pressure in the wood boiler be? There are two "hands" in the gauge. One is black (shows actual pressure in the boiler) and second one, red. Is the red one showing maximum pressure in the system? (picture 1)
2) Is this a mixing valve? (picture 2) What should it be mixing? Is it responsible for heating water in the radiators and the taps?
3) There is an electric heater attached to the system (type, picture 3) and it has two thermostats. What are they controlling?
4) Do you add glycol to your system? What temperature do you mix it for? There is glycol in my system and it is mixed for -8C. The house is very close to Artic Circle and temperatures go down to -30C outside. Also do you add distilled water to the system or tap water?
5) Can I use both electric heat and wood burning heat together? E.g. set the electric heater to 30C and also burn wood in the boiler? Electric heater would be keeping temperature to +30C during night when the wood would be gone.
6) What pressure should be in the system? System is closed with an expansion vessel in the basement. There are another two floors above the basement with 5 radiators on each floor. What pressure do you put in the expansion vessel, 0,9bar, (picture 6)? The expansion vessel is gone (will be replaced once it arrives from the shop). There should be a safety valve for 1,5bar, should there not? It seems that somebody fixed leaking safety valve (1,5bar) by adding a new one (2,5bar), (picture 5).
7) Is a closed heating system better than an open system?
8) How does this thermostat (picture 8) work and how do I set it? I understand that it should close the air access. At what temperature it is closing?
9) Does anybody have the manual for this wood boiler and the electric heater?
I drew a little diagram, hopefully it makes sense (picture 7). Pipes are numbered as follows:
1 - cold water from the well
2 - hot water for the taps
3 + 4 - pipes go to next room (laundry room) to a single radiator
5 + 6 - pipes go to all radiators in the house
7 - the valve for filling system with tap water
Thank you in advance for any advice and help.
Tack sÄ mycket!
Frank
