Your worst example of runaway building material prices
I don't know what they cost in the spring or last year, but about 4 years ago I paid 78 kr/m2 for OSB.L Lilllen said:Rising prices are good to keep track ofBut for someone like me who has never bought OSB in my life, it would be interesting if the price that the item usually/used to cost is also included. Preferably exact figures, but an approximate estimate will do too
I see someone included a "before" price, but I'm asking for more.
Was at K-Rauta today and checked the same product. According to the salesperson, it had increased from 149 SEK to 599 SEK in a short time which is a totally crazy price development.Kallson said:
Was at the local XL-bygg today and bought two 45x70 beams (5.4m). Found one straight and the other had a bend in the last meter but thought it was OK (didn't want to mess up the stack more). The reasonable price for these two beams was 408 SEK, i.e., almost 40 SEK/m!
So I thought I'd amuse myself by finding an even worse example. My contribution is an OSB board from Beijer and the challenge for the forum is to surpass it with something even worse.

No, and I hope you're right. I was at another hardware store a few weeks ago when the customer in front of me reacted to the recurring price increases and asked how long the price was valid. The salesman, with a twinkle in his eye, replied, "until the end of the day." I believe the peak has been reached, and many are simply holding off on purchases if they can.Rkarlsson said:
I believe, note believe, that prices will go down to normal within a month + 5 to 10 percent as they take the opportunity to raise prices at one or more stages.
Offtopic, I have a contrary example where I bought 100 lpm 45x95 and 27 lpm 45x120 at the reasonable price of 2500 kr the other day directly from a sawmill in Härjedalen.

Planed?
I believe prices will decrease in the fall when "hennasnickrandet" slows down. It will be exciting to see if they drop to about the same levels as before or if they remain at a higher level.
Something that doesn't seem to have increased at all is Rheinzink sheet metal.
The same list price today as it was the last time I bought it, 3 years ago. I even got a little more discount this time than last time.
