Your worst example of runaway building material prices
Glass wool 95mm you shouldn't pay more than 26kr/m2 for, byggmax charges 166kr each for ISOVER and there is 6.5m2 in the bundle.S Stuff said:
Ah, it was cheaper there but not quite as cheap as your example.F fribygg said:
I see 214:- per package for Isover 95mm on byggmax's website, which is 33kr/m2.
If I switch from private person to business, I get 26kr/m2, but that is without tax.
It was 166kr incl VAT per bundle earlier this week at Byggmax in Linköping. Same price in July by the way. There's no reason to pay over 26kr/m2 even if you buy from a local building supplies store.
Well, look at that. I live in Gävle, and it costs 33kr/m2 here. If I switch to Linköping, it drops to 26kr/m2. Sneaky of Byggmax. Regardless, I will, of course, shop where I find the best price in the Gävle area. I just wanted to figure out if insulation prices have surged compared to before the pandemic.F fribygg said:
I might insulate and plastic the garage before taking a break and continuing in the spring if the prices on boards, etc., have dropped by then. It's just a shame that the prices on 45mm studs are high right now. Otherwise, I could have built up the installation layer and let the electrician do their work as well.
Get quotes on the mineral wool if it's more than a trailer load. Byggmax isn't the cheapest for larger quantities.S Stuff said:Well, look at that.

Maybe I'll insulate and cover the garage one time before taking a break and continuing in the spring if the prices for boards, etc., have gone down by then.

You're going to get rich and be able to buy an 89-inch TV for the chipboard!maah said:

was going to buy two beams 2500x120x45mm. They cost 135:- eachuseless said:
"I remember how it used to be when you could get beams for 50:- each! Oh my, how expensive everything has become!"
luckily they "only" cost 92:- each at xlbygg instead.
Yes, I won't fix the exterior paneling on my newly built storage shed until prices are more normal. Among other things. I can wait months or until next summer with just wind paper and battens until then.useless said:
Especially when you hear about prices plummeting in the USA, but maybe it doesn't work that way in Sweden. A lot of material that the builders' merchants bought at high prices, which they also want to sell at high prices even if prices from the sawmills drop. Just guessing...
Lucky I managed to buy raw boards for the roof and floor before it increased from about 12 to 17 kr at Byggmax recently, for 120 mm.

18:85 per meter is what they've raised it to now.H hyresmuppen said:Yes, I won't fix the outer panel on my newly built shed until the prices are more normal. Among other things. I can wait months or until next summer with just windproof paper and battens until then.

Lucky that I managed to buy tongue and groove for the roof and floor before it increased from about 12 to 17 SEK at Byggmax recently, for 120mm.
You can bet that it will be the same principle that gas stations use. When the price of crude oil goes up, the price at the pump is raised even though it's several weeks before it ends up in the station's tank. If the price goes down, they have to empty the entire damn buried tank before it also goes down at the pump.
