Now it is so that my better half can't imagine 20-doors.

1) Negotiate with the wife!
2) Claim that these are 21-doors (when you have bought the 20-doors)
3) Offer her to solve the problem if she cannot accept the 20-doors[/quote]

1) Lost
2) She's not that dumb
3) Hahahahahahaha, I'm not that dumb.

Seriously though. A door leaf that is 194 cm tall, I would probably duck when entering. At the same time, the other doors I've installed previously are 21. And it's precisely this latter point that makes me wonder what I could have been thinking those days in November when I put up the wall. :-/ 8-)

A well-meaning tip: always specify the width first.
for a door it doesn't matter but some happy people have had a bit of trouble when they switched it.
not fun to get 11x9 windows when you think you're getting 9x11.

thank you helmsman, you have provided me with vindication, I am currently buying windows myself, will later buy doors, got scared and thought... damn... can't there be some standard, but surely there is! Width first, then height :-?

Now it has been resolved. It wasn't so tricky after all.

I ended up mounting the guide rail for the plunge saw on the wall. Then just sawed precisely through the drywall and OSB on all three sides. Removed the drywall, and unscrewed the OSB and stud.

Once the initial panic subsided, it went well after all.

Thanks everyone, for the tips and advice!!!

...barely fits in the blooper thread anymore then.... ;)

Good that it got resolved - most things do when you get to sulk a bit and think for a while....

No, of course. It just keeps getting better and better. :)

And I've been eagerly cheered on by my 4-year-old son too.

"Dad, I think you're doing a great job"

A clever trick, that little flatterer. But it works!! :D
