Wrong height on doorway

Now I've really messed up!!!
I discovered yesterday that I had a fundamental brain lapse when I built the walls last fall. I made the openings for 20-9 doors when they should have been 21-9.
Now there’s OSB, drywall, countless layers of filler and paint on the walls. On top of everything, I've run conduit above the door openings.
Anyone have any ideas and tips on the best way to solve this problem?
Once I calm down and get out of my mental slump, this might be something for the blooper thread. ;D

I haven't bought the doors yet. Will do it tomorrow.
Now, my better half can't imagine 20- doors.
I'm considering using a reciprocating saw to cut through the wall. If I'm really lucky, I can manage the vp-rören. Otherwise, I'll have to splice with tubing.
Now that I've come back down to earth, my brain has slowly started to function. And not just produce swear words.
Considering what I've lived through this past week, it probably won't be easy to air the blue cabinet.

Yes, there isn't much to choose from if it has to be 21-doors.. Bring out the tiger.
But you can lower the floor otherwise, it could look nice with a little moat between the rooms - then you can fill it with water and have nice fish

That thing with the moat sounds fun. The boy would probably be delighted.
There's no problem with water for the moat, the underfloor heating pipes will solve that once I've gotten through the floor.

The tiger is funny but sometimes a bit too much
I would probably have cut the OSB and drywall on one side of the wall straight up from the door frame and knocked/cut away the board above the door, then you can easily move the stud and VP pipe.
Then it's just a matter of restoring this side and shortening the boards on the back (new screws end up under the molding, so no need for spackling and painting)

I'm sure we can arrange that....MathiasS said:
I don't doubt that ;D ;D
Elof,
How did you plan to saw?
I'm considering using the tiger saw straight up to the RIGHT height. Then drill with a center bit, and saw horizontally. Screw up a new beam. This way I won't have to install new boards.
I can splice the electrical conduits with tubing and pull new wires if needed.
Sorry to interrupt, but what does 20-9 and 21-9 mean? And why can't she accept 20-9?
:-?
:-?
My idea was to saw off the boards on one side of the wall, straight up from the vertical pieces of the frame... you could say that you saw off the board sitting just above the door. You'll have to restore one side of the wall above the door, but on the other hand, you'll have full control over what's inside the wall. Sawing into PVC pipes isn't the most fun thing to doTimmervikarn said:
Just a thought
20 is the module measurement for height, normally the actual frame outer measurement is 1985mm.ThomasLindgren said:

21 is the standard height, 20 gives it a bit of a pygmy measurement (but I wonder if it's really noticeable...).
I think MattiasP is on the right track: this thing with module measurements, door leaf measurements etc. is a bit confusing, so it's definitely a viable path to stubbornly claim that these are actually 21 doors. Ingenious, actually.
