Check with Ikea

Run a thread tap on the existing threads or just drill one or two new holes. In the worst case, place a nail plate or equivalent on the underside. IKEA furniture sometimes benefits from being modified.

M8 is more or less standard in bed frames and the like. A 13 mm wrench usually fits.

Which one did you choose??? I'm having the same problem..
It's a thumb thread on them, so m8 fits about 3 turns then the thread cuts

Found this on Jysk's page if it can be of any help
Does anyone know what such a "bult" is called? (the ones in the picture are for their set with runners for beds)

Do you mean A?
It is called 'pinnbult' but is a stud because it is threaded.

Have assembled lots of legs on beds over the years and the easiest is to use regular screws with hex heads and large washers. The length should be adjusted so it doesn't go through the fabric. That's primarily why they often use hanger bolts.
And as already mentioned, it's often 5/16 UNC on mattresses. Why, I don't know.

I have now solved this issue!

IKEA's customer service was helpful but couldn't find it in the database despite many searches. Probably because it was a long time ago that it was in the assortment.

You need a thumbscrew with dimensions 5/8 inch, just as the previous commenter wrote. These should be 1 1/2 inches long (about 38 mm) and be of the coarse type of thumbscrews, "coarse" or UNC.

Complete it with a flat washer 5/16 inch and it works perfectly fine; I just checked on our Sultan Skymning without any problem. I had an old screw left to compare with, no difference.

I bought these through very competent and friendly customer service at Centry.se (Not affiliated with the company).

Edit: It should be 5/16 inch on both.

Add a plain washer 5/16 inch, and it works perfectly, I just checked on our Sultan Skymning without problems. Had an old screw left to compare with, no difference.

Fantastic! What detective work! 🥳😜
