I am missing screws for a Sultan box spring from Ikea. These are for the legs that need to be screwed on. Ikea no longer had these as spare parts but could only provide me with the measurements 0.70x40. I have found a picture on the internet that I am attaching. It is also the washers that are missing. Does anyone have an idea of what I need and where I can easily find it?

Metal bed legs with screws and brackets for IKEA Sultan.

At a "Bultbar" at any major hardware store?

M4 bolt is 0.7cm in diameter. So maybe M4 40mm?
M4, as the name suggests, is 4 mm in diameter, with a thread pitch of 0.7 mm.
The screws in the picture are thicker, I would say M8 or equivalent UNC thread.

I agree.
Looks like M8..
13 mm wrench.

For a while, they inexplicably had tumgänga on those. Buy an M8 and check that it fits in the mattress frame.

Aren't there pre-drilled holes in the bed frame?
Then it's just a matter of measuring the diameter and length.

Then you just need to measure the diameter and length.
There's a rampamuff in the frame. Inch or mm.

Does it? There have probably been bed frames both with and without threads, right? I have at least had IKEA (and other) bed frames with just drilled holes. However, the latest Hilding Anders I threw out last week was threaded.

The image shows bolts with metal threads. They should definitely not be screwed directly into the wood. There should be a nut somewhere. Often, it is a t-nut that is used.

To complicate matters, for some reason these often have inch-threads. So M-threads won't work. I think the threads in the image look too coarse to be M-threads.

Thank you for all the answers. Here are pictures of the actual hole in the bed. There is a thread further down in the hole but you can't reach the other side so it must be inserted into the existing thread.

A close-up of a hole in a wooden bed frame, showing threading inside the hole, with a fabric-covered cushion above. A hole in a wooden bed frame with visible threading inside, part of a discussion on installing a component into the existing thread.

looks like m8...
Two screws held in hand, showing size comparison. One is an M8 screw and the other is an M10 screw, highlighting differences in diameter and thread pitch.
One is an m8, the other is an m10..

m8 13mm..
1/2" 12.7mm UNC 13 threads per inch.
unf 20 threads per inch.

I never managed to, so we left it as it was.
