Hello,
Are there any guidelines on where to place the "hook" for window lamps such as Christmas stars?
My first attempt was a small nail right above the top window frame, unfortunately, the nail was too small and one of the stars fell down (perhaps with a little help from the cat

).
Now I've bought an angled hook and since this will be a more permanent solution, I'm wondering where I should place the hook? In the frame? Right above the frame? A bit above the frame?
My own speculations go like this:
If you place it in the frame, it will also be more visible, especially since we don't have curtains in these windows (10x4 with a good margin to the ceiling). If you place it right above the frame, I suspect there's a risk that the material (in the wall) might crack since the window opening probably doesn't extend much below where the frame ends. So I'm currently considering 2 cm above the upper frame, could this be reasonable for future use as well? The only downside here is that it will leave a hole in the wall, and walls are a bit harder to replace compared to frames, but of course, it's always possible to fill in with filler.
