This is our guest room that we thought we would tackle ourselves. We have removed the old bubbly wallpaper and in some places there's exposure to blåbetong. What is the next step? We want to keep it simple. There are also some cracks.

  • Guest room under renovation with stripped wallpaper, ladder, and scattered tools; visible cracks and blue concrete areas on walls.
  • Guest room under renovation with stripped walls, revealing old wallpaper and concrete, showing cracks and exposed areas. A broom and bucket are on the floor.
  • Guest room with removed wallpaper, revealing rough walls with patches and cracks, near a window with scattered tools on the sill, ready for renovation.

The easiest way is probably with renovation plasterboard. Then you only need to fill and sand the joints between the boards.

As BirgitS writes, or you can do wide spackling. There are pros and cons to both, but if you do wide spackling, you may avoid some issues with radiators, windows, and door frames.

Thank you! I was considering renovation wallpaper on the walls with windows and door. Maybe that's not enough? Alternatively, plaster those walls.

I saw a thread here where they got angry at each other when discussing how to glue gypsum boards on blåbetong. Any input?

If it is to work with renovation wallpaper, it must be almost completely smooth before you put up the renovation wallpaper. Such wallpaper only conceals small irregularities.
