I have an entire gable that is open from the inside. Most of the gable has my garage facing it.
I've bought new improved insulation. I feel that 13mm gypsum ruins the whole idea of trying to insulate better.
The room is small so I want to avoid double gypsum.
Let's say 290cm without the wall panels, a bed is about 245cm long at worst, which leaves 45cm between the bed and wall. And in those 45cm, I need to be able to open wardrobe doors, which doesn't work, so I'll have to go for a sliding door solution... But you should still be able to walk without going sideways...
(minus the wall panels, moreover)
The goal is; to have double layers of something that will result in better thermal properties and reduce noise...
Chipboard - best against noise... Plywood - worst with most durability but most expensive
OSB is said to be the best compromise...
Unfortunately, OSB is only available in 11mm...
Plyfa is at least available in, for example, 7mm...
* OSB 11mm + 6mm renovation gypsum = 17mm = ok
* Plyfa 7mm + 13mm gypsum = 20mm
* 13+13 gypsum =26 not ok... and I believe something more porous is needed for warmth.. If you touch gypsum, it always feels cold, dead dense material...
What to do, what to do? I need to close the wall now...
