Hi,

We are currently renovating our house and are tearing down walls and excavating the basement to furnish an apartment there. The house is located on the west coast and is built on rock with a granite foundation, parts of which are below ground level but have a Platon mat and gravel against the rock on the outside, see attached pictures.

When I tore down the interior walls, I found the construction solution you see below, and as you can see, it has been affected by mold.

What do you recommend for the construction solution for the new interior walls against the granite wall?

Wall construction with exposed wood, insulation, and granite surface inside a house under renovation; signs of mold are visible on materials. Foundation wall with granite base, exposed gravel, and drainage matting at a house under renovation on the west coast. Signs of rust and wear visible. House under renovation with granite foundation, exposed stone and soil; situated on the west coast. Visible basement windows, digging around the house.

Do you think I need plastic between the interior and exterior wall, and are steel studs necessary instead of wooden studs?
