Our house was additionally insulated over 15 years ago, and at that time, a panel in a rustic timber style was added. The three midsections from the 50s are thus gone, and in my opinion, the house looks rather unattractive when the walls are so uniform without any breaks. Like a shoebox.

I've googled and thought a bit myself but can't come up with a good way to add a midsection or two. Therefore, I'm turning here for some suggestions. Do you have any ideas?

We will be repainting soon, and I'll take the opportunity to change the window trims to a more stylish design. In connection with that, it would be nice to add these midsections.

  • Red wood-paneled house with white trimmed windows and a gray roof, seen through tree branches, looking for ideas to add decorative horizontal trims.
  • Close-up of red wooden house paneling with visible texture and white-framed window, showing a uniform facade needing visual breaks.

We will do maintenance painting in the near future and then I will take the opportunity to change the window casings to a slightly nicer design. In connection with this, it would be nice to get these bands in place.
