Brilliant,
What can be said about the side pieces?
How, cost, material, etc.?

Well, what can one say.... KKR tube 200x100x5 in 12-meter length, angle irons welded on the inside where the steps rest. The railings are 12mm round iron with 100mm spacing, finished with a 40mm flat iron. All the steel for the staircase, the frame in the background, 9-meter railing to the upper floor (Visible a bit at the top) cost 10´+ VAT. I also got some leftover plus 50 m square profile 40mm for another project.
Your construction looks good! =)MrMagic said:Well, what can I say.... KKR-beams 200x100x5 in 12-meter lengths, welded angle irons on the inside that the steps rest on. The railings are 12mm round bars with 100mm spacing, finished with a 40mm flat bar.

Just one question about the side beams.. How does the staircase feel with those beams? Is it wobbly or stable? Spontaneously, I think it sounds like a well-dimensioned beam.. Or what was your reasoning? Would a thinner one have sufficed?
Interesting to hear how it works..
It is anything but wobbly!! **snort** Joking aside, it is seriously stable actually, clearly oversized. Definitely can withstand several tons! But I specifically wanted 200mm width on the beams so the steps wouldn't stick out too much. And then the width becomes at least 100mm, and there isn't a thinner material than 5mm available either. However, I can experience that if you walk with hard shoes and "stomp" (On my fine steps, shame on you!) you can get a certain "boxy feeling" from the large volume in the beams. Perhaps I should have stuffed in some mineral wool before welding the end shut. I should add that it's at a business, not in a residential environment. Fun to get some "credit" from a guy like you, I've read all your posts under "Mark..." and I'm deeply impressed! You are a valuable asset here! Will surely have some questions soon, I’m starting with groundwork for the new building in the spring. Just bought an Excavator for the purpose...
Hi,
In an earlier thread, there was a tip about a company in Estonia, ARTIKA Trepid (www.artika.ee). They have a very nice website with really stylish oak staircases. I have written to them several times in English but haven't received any response. Has anyone been in contact with them? The prices they quote are super interesting so I really want to get in touch with them but my Estonian is non-existent, any tips?
