Renovate staircase, tips?

Hi! We want to spruce up our staircase and are thinking about possibly painting it white. But we would also prefer not to have the railing on the outside but rather on top of the spindles. Does anyone have tips on how to do this or has renovated a similar staircase? Or completely different suggestions on how to go about it? Doors and floors will also be replaced🤓

Remove what you call "räcke" (handledare is probably the more correct term). Then cover with plywood and plasterboard so you can paint everything white afterwards.
