Hello,
I have an extension from the 60s in the form of a 14-meter-long and 4-meter-wide corridor that connects 2 houses.
I'm going to remove a flowerbed and put a drainage mat on one side now and have started digging. At 60 cm depth, I've hit a stop. Could it be the slab that is so shallow, or is it a huge stone?
I'm not very knowledgeable in construction, so I wonder if the slab should protrude on the outside of the exterior wall, and if so, how far?
I haven't had the time/energy to dig in more places along the wall since it became dark and cold, so I thought I'd check with this excellent forum what you all think :)

No one knows???
Didn't make it home today before it was darker than a soot-covered glove...

It is probably a cast sole that the foundation stands on. Dig a little more and investigate the matter.
