Hello,

I will be attaching a tool board to the wall to hang some various items. It's a drywall behind it, so I'll have to use molly plugs (wall anchors).

The included screw will not be screwed in all the way for natural reasons since the tool board is in between. Do I need to use a longer screw to get more screw into the wall?

Or can I use the included screw as long as it threads in a little bit?

Don't hang on plaster, find the studs and attach to them. If they are paintings with holes for hooks, use longer screws and a spacer in between, a piece of wood works well. You can also attach 2 studs horizontally and secure the plate at the top and bottom, which automatically creates a space for the hooks.

If they are not an option? Why not go with panel expanders?

You can screw into the studs, and it will never come loose.

Expanders are only as strong as the gypsum on the surface, is it just a gypsum board?

The tool panels I bought are 40*40, so they're pretty small. There will be 1 screw in each corner. I will have 4 of these tool panels.

No excessive weight will be on them either.

Yes, it is single-layer gypsum.

Aha okay.
I would think that as long as the screw threads in a couple of turns, it's not what's going to limit the weight.

If it doesn't feel quite steady, you can just buy some screws in bulk at Hornbach.

If it doesn't feel really sturdy, you can just buy a few screws in bulk at Hornhaus.
okay, great. No spacer or anything like that needed?

The items to be hung on these boards are of relatively little weight, and the few things that weigh a bit more will also be distributed over 2 boards.

Spacer?

Distance?
forget it, it was nothing.:)

the boards are 1.5 cm thick so not much will be lost of writing.

could also choose the larger version M6 so it will be steady

Fairlane
Maybe Essve Duckfoot could be something for you? The screw is included and fits and will have sufficient length.
