Hello
I am getting help from a contractor to apply self-leveling compound in the basement. He is asking some questions that make me wonder how my answers influence the choice of materials and working method. Can knowledgeable people in the forum provide insight (qualified speculation) into how the contractor thinks?
Grateful for feedback on what I need to know to be a "good" client for a "self-leveling compound assignment".
Will there be tiles or parquet on top?
Does my answer affect the work result (how quickly the contractor can work), or the choice of material? I imagine that with tiles, the compound can be applied a bit more "sloppily" and quickly, whereas with parquet, a more even result is required, which thereby takes a bit longer.
How long will it be before tiles or parquet are installed?
Probably determines whether it needs to be quick-drying or not.
Electric underfloor heating?
This likely decides the choice of dry mix (fiber-reinforced or not).
