I am going to remove a floor consisting of 22mm particle board - 13mm gypsum board and about 15mm of self-leveling compound. It would be convenient to be able to saw and lift off larger pieces instead of having to chisel away the compound.

Is this possible and what should I use most easily - reciprocating saw - hand saw - blade .....

You will need to keep track of where the beams are in the joist so you don't cut through anything, a blade first with a set measure of about 38 mm and cut out a hole and measure against the stop under the floor, then you'll know where not to cut, then a reciprocating saw with a metal blade, it withstands the flex better.
