At the back of the garage, there is a storage room that is insulated and was used as a bedroom by previous owners, but there is no door from the house. The plan now is to integrate this room with the rest of the house by creating an interior door.
The house was built in 1989 in modules, so in the wall leading to the storage room, it is like a complete exterior wall plus they have framed a wall with foam insulation inside the storage room. According to the technical specifications of the drawings, the exterior wall contains 1. Gypsum 2. Plastic film 3. Mineral wool 4. Studs cc60 5. Asphalt board.
In addition to this, there is a framed wall on top of that with studs cc60, foam boards, and gypsum on it.
Questions on this:
Could you put gypsum directly on the asphalt board?
Is it possible to move a stud to fit an interior door with a frame size of 70?
