Problem with vapor barrier tape

When I taped tightly in the crawl space, I first used the cheap Etab building foil tape (blue). After a few days when it started to get a bit damp, the tape began to release just about everywhere.

So I had to start over with the more expensive Etab flexible building foil tape (green), which was a success. The tape even adheres to concrete, etc.

If I remember correctly, I've read that T-Flex is usually recommended, which is also a green flexible tape that adheres really well.

At such large volumes as you need, there may be other places to get it from.

I've experienced exactly the same thing. It's quite strange that there can be such a big difference in tape from the same manufacturer. The green one sticks extremely well, and I've unfortunately made the same mistake as others by using the green tape (with protective paper) to "temporarily" put things up.

I've also tested some other tapes, and so far I would say that Etab's green tape is on par with T-Flex (and others with protective paper). It's also fairly cheap at, for example, byggmax.

Thank you for all the info!

We are switching to T-flex tape and will re-tape everything and replace plastic where needed. We have a lot of work ahead of us to replace all the tape.

Have used Paroc's red and white for our house, it's holding like a rock so something must be wrong with you.
