Hi! I was thinking of installing a TV mount on the wall between the living room and bedroom, and I wanted to find out if it was double plasterboard to buy molly plugs. I drilled an 8mm hole and went about 70mm in, but when I shine light inside, there is no insulation and the plasterboard doesn't end when I drill. Where I drilled, a bit of paper came off just like it does from plasterboard, but I don't understand what kind of wall it is and how it can be so thick.
Thanks in advance!
Thanks in advance!
I drilled quite a large hole and shone a flashlight in, and the plaster goes much more than 26mm in. Tried to use a bent paperclip to find the end of the board but couldn't. It’s an apartment from 1984. I'm very confused. I don't think I hit any stud as I didn't get any wood when drilling, and it's still just plaster.BirgitS said:

Siporex or lightweight concrete. It is not more than 26mm of gypsum, if any at all, so that can be ruled out.
A plug for lightweight concrete will probably be excellent. Plug for 10mm hole and drill 10, then 6mm screw.

I'm trying to mount my TV on an interior wall and have exactly the same situation. Drilled 70mm but couldn't find the end of the sheet. Were you able to solve the problem or understand what it was?
Hey there! For me, it turned out I have lightweight concrete walls/siporex. I used 8mm plugs I think. People often assume everything is drywall indoors...K Krish8926 said:
Yes, it was very easy to drill with the screwdriver and felt like a drywall when you knocked on it. If you've drilled 70mm in without it becoming empty or going through, you can go with normal plugs without any problem.K Krish8926 said:
No worries, good luck
Thank you very much, I'll try that then!Hampus Gran said:
