I've demolished a built-in old wardrobe and chipped away the plaster that was loose (below ground). Above ground and on the interior wall, the plaster is really well-attached but painted with a glossy paint. The rest of the basement (white part in the picture) has previously been painted with silicate paint.
I plan to scrape off the glossy paint. Plaster with C-bruk on the cinder block where plaster is now missing. Wait until semi-dry and then brush on a thin layer of plaster over the entire area, including the area where I've scraped off the paint (yellow in the picture). What do you think about that?
I plan to brush on because I can't build anything with plaster on the surface above ground without creating an edge. I know it won't be perfect, but it's just a laundry room...
For info, the basement has been insulated and drained for a couple of years now, so it's bone dry. The damage is from earlier.
I scraped down quite a bit under the paint as well, so it should be okay to apply with a board anyway. If it looks okay afterwards, I'll return with a picture
By the way, I can recommend Bahco’s wave-shaped scraper blade for paint scrapers. Very effective on plaster and retains its sharpness very well. After these 4 sqm, I haven't even turned the blade yet and the sharpness is still good. Straight scraper blades slide, the wave-shaped bites better. However, it costs 200 pix...
