Partition wall without attaching to ceiling/floor.
My partner is renting a space. Now she wants to put up a partition wall to divide a room. About 2 meters long wall.
There are sound tiles on the ceiling so unfortunately, we can't press between the ceiling and floor. The floor has regular laminate.
I thought we could attach the top rail at each end against the walls and let it hang freely in the middle. Or maybe use ONE larger screw in the middle of the top rail.
I can screw the bottom rail at one end. The other end should be open without a door.
Read about some strong double-sided tape. Could that work on the floor? Risk of damaging the floor?
More tips are welcome.

I did something similar a few years ago with a sliding door that went into the "new wall." What I wanted to avoid was screwing into both the floor and ceiling then, it went quite well, it was just at the "threshold" (a stainless steel strip) that there were a few minor screws, as a carpet was going to be in the new room.
I used rubber cork under the studs, Biltema sells sheets of this, so I glued it to the side of the studs facing the parquet floor, it provides both friction and dampens any potential marks from the wall's weight. The wall feels stable even though it's only attached to the walls and its own weight.

I attached our floor batten with Isover's butyl tape, I have used it for all sorts of things.J jonaslatt said:
Sticks very well, but can be removed without stains. Doesn't smell either.

The easiest way is to use good double-sided tape for the layout (against the floor) and screw at the top directly into the supporting structure with mounting screws. When you need to restore, you screw in white ceiling screws with a small head into the screw holes.
Works great.
Works great.
