I am organizing the garage.
I have torn down 12mm particle boards from the inner walls and ceiling.
I am in the process of building a 60 mm air gap.
The walls and ceiling will be insulated with cellulose insulation, which means no vapor barrier should be used, as it should breathe.
(Also, it will only be above freezing there - no Bahamas)= further support for no vapor barrier.

When I called the people who will spray insulate, they told me to use regular hardboard instead of oil-tempered, as the non-oil-tempered breathes better.

Now my question is: Can I use the particle boards that were on the walls and ceiling, or am I doing something wrong?

I would recommend you to switch to OSB boards in the walls, they are absolutely great for mounting things, chipboards are not durable and why you would use masonite is a mystery to me, since it is a material that doesn't serve any purpose at all! "full-time builder"

Oh, I was probably a bit unclear.

The question is if I can use chipboard for the air gap board instead of masonite?

On the walls and ceiling, there will then be paneling...

It shouldn't encounter any obstacles:)

Thank you so much for the quick responses.
