I am considering using panel clips for my vertical paneling. I don't see any way to nail them discreetly, and I think nails wouldn't look very nice on the wall, especially since the underlying studs are uneven.
Okay, but how do you handle electrical outlets? When nailing, you can clamp two boards together, drill the outlet hole and fit them in place when they are together, and then nail. But with panel clips, that won’t work.
Has anyone used panel clips, and how did you handle hole cutting?
There will be nailing at the top and bottom covered by floor and ceiling moldings.
Bought a nail gun and nails into the spring. Turned out okay, but you have to be careful to hit correctly. Wonder if it's better to nail into the groove?

There's no problem nailing in the groove with a nail gun, set it "deep" so the nail is fully driven in. Slightly higher risk of cracks if you need to nail close to knots or similar. Becomes 100% invisible. But if you have dense paneling of good quality (that doesn't dry apart) it's easier to nail in the spring. Panel discussion is good, but expensive and slow.
I thought it felt best to set the tongue against the wall/corner, and then it's not possible to get it as tight if you use clips or nails in the tongue, I think. So it had to be like this.
I'll have to think about how to handle the outer corners.
Looked a bit at the panel yesterday - same as knockonwood - and it doesn't get many mm thick if you nail in the tongue. I'll try it on scrap pieces, maybe it will work.
Mmm, but the panel is 204cm and there are two hidden nails in the tongue, but two "visible" ones at each end (ends up under the molding). Do you think that will be enough?
