Hello!

I'm just wondering if anyone has only put single-layer plasterboard on a wall without OSB and other materials behind it?

I'm planning to put up a temporary wall that will be taken down in a few years when the eldest daughter moves out.

I'm looking to do this as cheaply and easily as possible. Has anyone tried this? Or is OSB or double-layer plasterboard a must?

We don't hit the walls at home and are "calm," it should be added, haha. :)

It works, but a little insulation isn't wrong either.

Most of the interior walls in our house, which we built in the late '90s, have single drywall on 70-wood studs. Many also have insulation, but not all. It works perfectly. You just have to think a little when hanging something heavy, so that you find the studs or use the right fasteners.

It works excellently, but I would have gone with double gips.

Yes, many have tried, and it works just fine. I don't know how it is now, but earlier it was the norm. It's really only when you start hanging heavier things that you notice a difference.
