I am planning to install an overhead garage door and am considering renovating the ceiling first since the current drywall from '78 is sagging. What is the easiest way to do this? Can I put new drywall directly over the existing one or should I take down the old ceiling first? Renoveringsgips?

The reason it sags might be because it's spaced too sparsely with the studs?
Sure, age probably also takes its toll.
Maybe worth checking to ensure you don't have the same issue with the new plasterboard after a while.
cc30 will be fine for plasterboard in the ceiling.

If the old plaster ceiling is sagging, it's probably because there's not enough sparse paneling to keep it up. C/c 300 mm is what's recommended. It could also be that the sparse paneling is too weak, 28x70 is typically used. You can forget about renovation gypsum in the ceiling. ;-)

I see. Interesting reading. I don't have any records at all today but I want some. Are there other types of records perhaps?

I just want to avoid seeing the previously moisture-damaged ceiling, etc., and I have no real desire to nail a sparse panel....

so what to do? Take down the old ceiling, check the beams, possibly nail up extra strip paneling and then put up new drywall? A lot of work..

Why is that?

Try to trick up such a thin slice on the ceiling.

OK, then I'll give it a try!
I surfed a bit more on these pages and saw that the problem is that the skivorna bend.
The longest skivorna are only 135cm so it might be worth a try.
No other strange problems?

Why not put sheet metal instead? I have it in my garage, it actually turned out really nice and is MUCH faster to put up. Works well to install without spacing as well. But of course, the old gypsum must come down...
